Meet the Team: Rose Martin

Hi, my name is Rose Martin. I am a trained radiology technologist, but I currently work with the Radiology Informatics Team. My primary duty is working with the picture archiving and communication system (PACS), a medical imaging technology that provides economical storage of and convenient access to images from multiple modalities (source machine types such as CT, MRI, Radiography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, etc.).  The electronic images and reports are transmitted digitally via PACS; this eliminates the need to manually file, retrieve, or transport film jackets. I anonymize the studies for all the research projects. Anonymization is the process used to prevent a person’s identity from being connected with information. I’ve been working at Cincinnati Children’s for over 37 years.

I like working at Cincinnati Children’s because I enjoyed working with children and find it very rewarding being able to help them. The people in our department, Cincinnati Children’s Radiology, are what make the hospital special.

On a personal note, my favorite TV shows are Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and 24 Live Another Day.  My dream vacation is RETIREMENT (to spend time with my grandchildren). Some of my favorites: M&Ms, steak, the Cincinnati REDS, and Pete Rose.
